Dependence of pollutant emission factors and fuel consumption on driving conditions and gasoline vehicle types

Vehicle types, technologies, and driving conditions are key factors affecting emission fuel consumption. In this study, we measured the hydrocarbon (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxide (NOx) factors, consumption of vehicles with a (1) carburetor (CVs), (2) multipoint injection technology three-way catalyst (MTVs), (3) technology, catalyst, exhaust gas recirculation device (MTEVs) under real using an OBS-2200 portable measurement system. The results showed that both distance- fuel-based HC, CO, NOx CVs were 2.7–6.6 times higher than those MTVs MTEVs. average incomplete conversion rates (IFCRs) 3.8 4.4 MTEVs, respectively. molar ratios CO/HC pollutants 7.6, 5.6, 2.8 for CVs, MTVs, Furthermore, correlation between vehicle-specific power rate was significant.
